I have just had the pleasure of leading the “Unstick Your Business” Teleseminar Series. The discoveries and changes the participating Conscious Entrepreneurs made have been inspiring and informative. One insight that emerged from the series resonates strongly with me - “Permission to Bloom”. Since Spring officially starts in the northern hemisphere this month, I’m making “blossoming” the focus for this month’s ezine. Enjoy!

Blossom in Your Business
Do you have permission to blossom in your business? Do you allow yourself to
shine and star in your world?It may surprise you that you may harbor be hidden Beliefs that keep you small and limiting your success. I could hear the shock in Amy’s voice (not her real name) when she realized that she did not really believe that she could blossom in her own business during the “Unstick Your Business” teleseminar series. We did some Belief Work and Downloads to help Amy move into starring in her own business starting now.
I find Amy’s dilemma of allowing herself to thrive is very common for Conscious Entrepreneurs. The origins of this conflict are multi-faceted. To boil it down for you, there are three main factors that can keep you small in your business:
Factor 1 – What you were taught about “shining” by immediate family, in school, by religious institutions, and by peers.
Factor 2 – Attitudes you inherited from your family (multiple generations) that were passed down as “how we do things to stay safe and survive” and could actually be encoded in your DNA.
Factor 3 – Past experiences imprinted on your Subconscious Mind that determine your current actions every day.
Let’s go deeper into each aspect of how your Beliefs could be limiting your ability to blossom in your business.
Factor 1 – How were you treated when you were confident, exuberant or declared you were good at something when you were young? You may have experienced some of the following at a young age:
- Your parents telling you, “Stop showing off. Who do you think you are?!?”
- Your folks saying, “You’re getting too big for your britches. Sit down and be quiet.”
- Your siblings teasing or taunting you.
- A teacher belittling you.
- A religious educator telling you to be humble and passive.
- Your classmates rejecting you.
Most of us have experienced one or more of these responses when we were being fully ourselves. Getting the feedback of “play small” and “stay safe” came early and got in deep for a lot of us. Changing the beliefs associated with these experiences can be challenging because it has to be safe to change for the process to begin.
Factor 2 – What do you know about your people and the attitudes you inherited from them?
My family came to America to escape religious persecution in Europe. In addition, as a Southern woman, I’ve been taught that it’s impolite to discuss religion and politics at a social event because it causes fights. So I’m sometimes shy about expressing my beliefs about spirituality and what I know to be true about the non-physical aspects of life.
As long as I let my family’s reticence about expressing deeply held beliefs hold me back, I block my ability to communicate authentically and enthusiastically. I “hide my light” and actually convey conflict rather than commitment and inspiration in my writing and speaking. That’s not my objective when I communicate!
Factor 3 – What wounds in your Subconscious Mind hold you back?
Wounds and issues from painful or frightening experiences stay in the Subconscious Mind and determine what we guard against and what we expect to happen in the future. Until these “wound imprints” are addressed and healed, we limit our ability to blossom and fully experience success in our business.
